Art Gallery Features Work of Nicholas Smith

The Centerville Arts Commission is pleased to announce photographer Nicholas Smith as the August featured artist for the Art Gallery at the Centerville Police Department, 155 W. Spring Valley Road. The exhibit may be viewed 24 hours a day.

Smith will hold a reception on Saturday, August 17, 2019 from 5:00 - 7:30p.m.

Photography started as a hobby for Nicholas Smith, who works full time as a civil engineer. The Centerville native first picked up a digital camera in the early 2000s. Since 2015, his work has evolved to incorporate more aerial photography and he does commercial photography part time. Smith’s photos have been published in local and international magazines – as well as on many blogs. He is also a DJI Expert Photographer.

“My photography philosophy is moody.  I want my photos to capture the story and mood I felt at that time,” Nicholas Smith said. “My favorite types of photos are aerial rural and nature landscape photos.  Farming is in the family, so I get new joy each time I can go out and get a photo of the farmer working in the fields.  Nature is something that can change in an instant.”

The Centerville Arts Commission was created by Centerville City Council to involve citizens in the visual and performing arts. For more information, call 937- 433-7151 or visit centervilleohio.gov.
