Cornerstone, the first-in-region retail and housing development at the intersection of Wilmington Pike and Feedwire Road, continues to grow. Building on the addition of the 240 upscale units within Cornerstone Apartments and construction of the 100 aged 55+ apartments at Dogwood Commons, Oberer Devopers are working on 37-single-family attached homes. Cornerstone Park is now open as well. 11 acres of trails and greenspace accompany a landscaped multi-level plaza that includes the Celebration art sculpture and a covered pond overlook.
This signifies the culmination of years of work, including cooperation and partnership with Oberer Developers and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR). ODNR awarded a $1 million Clean Ohio Fund grant for the passive parkland that preserves a headwater stream.
We are also excited to announce the City of Centerville’s first Designated Outdoor Refreshment Area (DORA) will open at Cornerstone in the next several weeks.
City Council, as well as the state of Ohio, believes the DORA is a tool to enhance economic growth and community by creating a unique experience for customers, Centerville residents and visitors, capitalizing on the new Cornerstone Park space and successful business development.
The DORA allows businesses with proper liquor licenses to sell adult beverages in authorized plastic DORA cups. These beverages can be taken off the business premises and consumed only within the DORA boundary. The state-approved DORA will operate seven days a week between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 a.m.
The state of Ohio supports City Council’s belief that a DORA is an innovative policy that will create a unique experience for businesses and residents.
