The City of Centerville contracts Buckley King for legal services. Scott Liberman is the Municipal Attorney. The Municipal Attorney is responsible for drafting legislation; advising staff on important new laws and drafts; reviews all contracts and agreements, agreements and legislation; and renders opinions on City matters. The Municipal Attorney is appointed by and reports to the City Manager.

Municipal Court
Misdemeanor cases, arraignment and traffic violations are heard in court on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays at 9:00 a.m. Preliminary hearings on felony cases are heard on Tuesdays and Fridays when scheduled. Jury trials are heard on Wednesdays, when scheduled. Civil hearings are held on Tuesdays at 2:00 p.m. and small claims are heard on Tuesdays beginning at 2:30 p.m.
Presiding over all cases in Kettering Municipal Court is the Honorable Frederick W. Dressel and the Honorable James F. Long. Small claims are heard by Richard Boucher, attorney-at-law. The Clerk of Courts is Robert Scott.
All records held by the Clerk of Courts and sessions held in Court are open to the public.
