Creating an Open Space Community

The Centerville-Washington Park District was created in 1959 by local residents with the foresight to realize that areas needed to be set aside as parks while the community was developed with houses and businesses.

More than 1,000 acres have been preserved at 50 parks. The Park District’s effort has been so successful, the Centerville area is known as an Open Space Community.

Open space, scenic parks and quality recreation and nature programs help make the community a special place to live. Headquartered at Activity Center Park at 221 N. Main St., more information about the many programs and parks the Park District offers may be found by calling (937) 433-5155.
